How do I update the photo on my iD?
If you’ve outgrown your current ID photo or just feel like it’s time for a refresh, don't worry, you aren't stuck with that freshers selfie forever!
Updating your photo is quick and can be done via our website or directly within the Student Beans app.
How to change your photo
On the Website:
- Log in to your Student Beans account.
- Click on your profile icon and select 'My Account'.
- Navigate to the 'Profile' tab within your account settings.
- You will see your current photo with an option to 'Edit'.
- Upload your new shot and hit ‘Save changes’.
On the App:
- Open the Student Beans app and tap on the settings icon at the top of the screen.
- Tap on ‘Change photo’.
- Either take a new photo or choose from your camera roll.
- Upload your new shot and you’re ready to go.
Photo Guidelines
While we want you to love your profile picture, remember that your Student Beans iD is often used for in-store discounts. To ensure retailers accept your iD at the till, please follow these tips:
- Be Clear: Use a high-resolution headshot where your face is clearly visible.
- Skip the Filters: While we love a good dog filter, it's best to avoid them for your iD so staff can easily verify it's you.
- Lighting Matters: Try to take the photo in a well-lit area with a plain background.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does updating my photo trigger a re-verification? Nope! Changing your photo won't affect your verified status. You'll still be able to use your discounts immediately.
Can I change my photo as many times as I want? Yes, you can update it whenever you like. However, if you are using your iD in-store frequently, we recommend keeping a consistent photo to avoid confusion at the checkout.
